Chickens

  We have had different varieties of chickens and the type I like the best are Buff Orpingtons they are great egg layers during the cold weather and they are very friendly.  Buff Orpingtons are also excellent setters and mothers. I read that these chickens were introduced to America in the late 1800's from England.  I sure do enjoy watching my chickens run around chasing bugs in the yard. They can be quite comical sometimes. The only problem I have with the chickens is they like to scratch around in my flower beds looking for something to eat and they tear it up so bad.
